Celebrating 100 Years of Curiosity and Confidence

Empowering Girl Scouts everywhere to ask, explore, and lead in STEM.

As USA Girl Scouts Overseas marks its 100th anniversary, I’m honored to be part of shaping what the next century looks like, one filled with curiosity, questions, and a whole lot of STEM.

For the past five years, I’ve had the privilege of leading STEMinist programming for Girl Scouts living around the globe. Our mission has been simple but powerful: connect girls with inspiring women in STEM, real-life STEM Superheroes who show what’s possible through their stories, careers, and passion.

From virtual Saturday mornings to cross-time-zone adventures, we’ve created globally inclusive badge experiences that not only spark interest but build lasting STEM confidence. Whether it’s coding in pajamas or talking to aerospace engineers halfway across the world, these moments are proof that STEM has no borders.

What makes this journey truly special is the community behind it. I’m incredibly grateful to Taryn Rimland Cabot, Sarah Ehrlich, Molly McGarity, and the many dedicated volunteers who have made these moments possible. This program wouldn’t exist without your energy, insight, and passion.

And to the Girl Scouts themselves, your questions, your curiosity, and your courage to explore the unknown are what keep this program alive and growing. You are the future scientists, engineers, inventors, and leaders we’ve been waiting for.

Here’s to the next 100 years of STEMinists, sparked by superheroes and powered by possibility!
